My name is Lauren, and I’m a newborn and family photographer based in Sydney’s Inner South.

 

I’m a mother, a minimalist, a coffee lover, and love exploring with my two little ones. I’m drawn to capture pure joy, and the emotion in the moment. Soft natural light against newborn skin and children running through long grass in the late golden hour makes my heart sing. Every. Single. Time!

 

My background is graphic design and I studied and worked in the industry for over 13 years. Throughout my design career, I was inspired by the photographers I worked with designing high end brochures for fancy buildings and homes being built around Sydney. 

 

To create a work life balance with my job that had long hours, I started to take photography night classes and that’s where the photography addiction started. Graphic design and photography go hand-in-hand. Composition, layout, and colour are all principles that apply to both fields. It was a natural progression from design to photography, but I now get to cuddle babies and meet so many beautiful families around Sydney. Design always missed the heart and soul aspect and that’s what I love about my job.

My photography journey started when my own little boy was born over seven years ago. I was desperate to document everything about him. Those tiny toes, those little fingers that wrapped around mine and his chubby little cheeks that I used to watch when I felt like I would be feeding for hours on end.

 

Those first weeks after he was born went by so quickly and to this day, revisiting his photographs brings back all those beautiful memories of holding my little boy tightly inside that perfect baby bubble.

 

I’ve been mentored by two of Australia’s well know newborn photographers and I’ve gained the knowledge needed to safely photograph newborns. As a Newborn and Family Photographer, I take great pleasure in being allowed to photograph families in that beautiful baby bubble and to capture the emotion at such a joyous time in their lives.
